Booking & payment

A booking request through this site or by email is not yet a reservation. We reply — usually within a few hours — to confirm that your date and departure time are available. With that confirmation we send a secure card-payment link (Straumur; Visa and Mastercard). Your date is reserved once payment is received. Until then, the date remains open to other guests. Nothing is charged before you confirm.

Prices are per private group (1–8 guests), in Icelandic krónur (ISK), and include VAT, your guide-driver and vehicle, fuel, entrances and parking on the standard route, and hotel pickup and drop-off in Reykjavík, Kópavogur, Garðabær and Hafnarfjörður. There are no booking fees. Extras are agreed and priced before you pay: Keflavík Airport pickup or drop-off 25,000 kr per group; each extra hour beyond the standard day 15,000 kr; admission fees at optional add-on stops (Kerið, the Secret Lagoon and similar) and food and drink at cost.

Cancellation policy

Cancelled by you: free cancellation up to 24 hours before your scheduled pickup — full refund to the card you paid with, no questions asked. Within 24 hours of pickup, or if you don't show, the full price is charged: we hold the whole day for your group alone and cannot resell it at short notice. To cancel, email hello@midnightsun.is or message +354 692 8010; the time we receive your message counts.

Changes: you can move your date or departure time free of charge up to 24 hours before pickup, subject to availability. Changing the number of guests across a price tier changes the price accordingly.

Cancelled by us — weather and roads: Iceland's weather is part of the experience and the tour runs in rain, wind and snow. If road closures or an official weather warning make the tour unsafe, we tell you before pickup and you choose: another day, or a full refund. The same applies in the unlikely event we must cancel for vehicle or guide reasons.

Cruise passengers: if your ship's arrival is delayed, we wait and run a shorter day; if the ship's schedule changes so the tour can't run at all, you get a full refund. We plan to return you to the ship at least 90 minutes before all-aboard; if we cause you to miss the ship, we arrange and pay for your transport to the next port.

Our liability is otherwise limited to a full refund of what you paid us; we recommend travel insurance for costs beyond that (flights, hotels and the like).

On the day

The published route (Þingvellir – Geysir – Gullfoss) is the plan, not a contract: your guide may reorder stops or suggest alternatives for weather, road conditions, crowds or safety, and will always tell you why. Timings are estimates. Please be ready at your pickup point at the agreed time; we wait, but very late starts may shorten the day.

You are responsible for following your guide's safety instructions, particularly near water, geothermal areas and cliff edges. Children are welcome; child seats are provided when you tell us ages in advance, as Icelandic law requires. Our vehicles are licensed and insured for commercial passenger transport, and we operate as a licensed day tour provider under the Act on the Icelandic Tourist Board no. 96/2018 (Ferðamálastofa licence 2026-097, public register).

Photos

Your guide will happily take photos of your group on your own phone or camera. Photos we take on our own equipment belong to you; we never publish photos of guests without asking you first.

Privacy

We collect only what the booking needs: your name, email, phone, dates, pickup address and any notes you send. It's used to answer you and run your tour, kept in our email, and never sold or shared with third parties beyond the services that process it for us (email delivery and payment processing). Ask at hello@midnightsun.is and we'll show you or delete what we hold. We use Google Analytics to count visits; this site sets no advertising cookies.
